Get an estimated price for your driveway project

A short, guided driveway estimate covering your details, the work required, the property, the driveway area and supporting photos.

Step 1 of 6 Your details
1

First, who should we prepare the estimate for?

We check the email address before continuing and send a four-character verification code. Your telephone number is collected for a manual check before the enquiry can be released to an installer.

2

What would you like done?

Choose the driveway work required and your preferred finish.

3

Where is the property?

Enter the complete UK address. Select the matching suggestion where available.

The address will also be located automatically when you continue.
4

Tell us about the driveway area

Enter an approximate driveway size or use the optional aerial measuring tool. Add another driveway area only when the work covers separate sections.

Measure the selected driveway area from the aerial map
How to measure the driveway
  1. Check that the aerial map is centred on the correct property. Use the map type control to switch between satellite and map views.
  2. For a road-level check, drag the yellow Street View person onto a blue road. Return to the aerial view before drawing.
  3. Press Draw selected driveway area, then click each corner around the outside edge of the driveway. Press Finish drawing when complete.
  4. Drag the white edit points to refine the outline. The square metre measurement updates automatically.
  5. Optionally create a static aerial snapshot of the selected outline for a clear visual reference.

Select a driveway area card, then press Draw selected driveway area.

These answers produce general planning and drainage guidance only. They do not replace a site inspection or decision by the relevant authority.

5

Add clear photos of the driveway

Show the whole driveway, the current surface, access, drainage and any walls, steps or obstacles.

6

Review the estimate and verify your email

The price is indicative. Enter the four-character code sent to your email. We will then complete a manual telephone check before installer matching.

Compare driveway materials

Choose the finish that suits your property and budget

Every material has a different appearance, installation method, maintenance profile and price. The estimator applies the rates configured for your selected finish and project conditions.

Porcelain paving driveway surface

Porcelain paving

A precise contemporary finish using driveway-rated slabs installed over a fully supported base.

Why prices differ

A driveway price is shaped by the full construction, not only the surface

Two driveways with the same area can have very different costs when excavation, access, drainage and ground conditions are different. Our estimator asks about the factors that commonly change the scope.

Project app benefits

Keep the driveway project close at hand

The installable web app uses the same secure account and project record as the website, helping you return quickly to the information that matters.

Progress

Check project stages, expected dates and installer updates.

Documents

Open quotations, contracts, invoices, receipts and guarantees.

Payments

See deposit, instalment, variation and final-payment records.

Updates

Receive supported browser notifications for important project events.

Payments and instalments

A recorded payment trail linked to the project

Where the installer uses connected project payments, money is processed through the installer’s own connected Stripe account. My New Driveway records the request, invoice and payment event but does not describe the arrangement as escrow.

Deposit

The deposit request can be tied to the accepted quote and contract.

Instalments

Scheduled payments can be linked to dates or project milestones.

Variations

Approved changes can create separate variation invoices instead of obscuring the original contract value.

Receipts

Successful payments create records that remain in the customer document library.

Frequently asked questions

What to know before requesting a driveway estimate

These answers explain the remote estimate, materials, drainage, planning and next steps.

Browse All Driveway Guides
Is the estimate free?

Yes. There is no charge to complete the online estimate.

Which driveway material is cheapest?

Gravel often has the lowest configured surface rate, but excavation, edging, grids, access and maintenance can affect the overall value. Compare complete specifications rather than only a square-metre figure.

Which surface lasts the longest?

Lifespan depends heavily on ground preparation, drainage, traffic, product quality and maintenance. A well-built system generally performs better than a premium finish laid on a weak base.

Can you estimate from a photograph?

Photographs help assess the visible surface, access, drainage and obstacles. They support the estimate but do not reveal every hidden condition or guarantee an exact scale.

Can you estimate using an aerial image?

Yes. The estimator can locate the property and let you outline the area on an aerial map. You should review the boundary and correct it where necessary.

Do I need planning permission?

It depends on the property, area, surface and drainage design. Front-garden impermeable surfacing can require permission in some circumstances, so check current Planning Portal and local council guidance.

Do I need a dropped kerb?

A council-approved vehicle crossing is normally needed to drive across a public pavement or verge. Requirements and application processes vary by local authority.

Is drainage included?

The estimator asks about drainage and can add configured drainage allowances. The final quotation should state exactly which channels, falls, permeable layers or soakaway work are included.

How long does installation take?

Duration depends on area, excavation, access, drainage, weather, curing and material. A straightforward domestic driveway may take several days, while complex groundworks can take longer.

Are quotations guaranteed?

The online estimate is not a guaranteed quotation. A contractor’s written quotation should define its validity period, assumptions, exclusions and process for variations.
